The monastic church of St. Abercius is situated on the seaside of the Gulf of Gemlik, to the east of the village of Kurşunlu. It is dated to the Comnenian period, in the 11th or 12th centuries. Its architectural type is very rare, consisting of a single nave with a broadened sanctuary and a narthex. The central dome has collapsed.
