GLOSSARY
shaman The term refers to traditional healers of tribes in Asia. The shaman acts as "mediator", communicating with the spirits on behalf of the community. The term was generally used to describe men with supernatural powers.
Twelve Tablets (Lex XII Tabularum) The earliest codification of Roman Law dated to the 5th century BC and written in 12 tablets, widely quoted by later authors.
